This match marked our sixth consecutive away game and if the near misses in this game counted, the score should have been around 15:0! Exasperated sighs continued to be heard from the sidelines when one shot at goal hit the post, another four were saved by the Beaumaris keeper and too many to mention failed to meet their mark by the narrowest of margins.

On review of our goal scorers and match reviews for the season so far, what has become readily apparent is the versatility of our players. When 12 out of 16 members of a squad can not only put scores on the board, but maintain a secure defence line and actively engage the midfield and strikers, the players become adaptable all-rounders .

It also seems when our players have something of an entourage, they are spurred on to magnificent performances and this week was no exception. Family members usually unable to be present were treated to two goals by Matt Syle and a brilliant penalty taken in the dying moments of the game by Kyle Piscopo.

When the rain finally fell in the last ten minutes of the game, it could not dampen the victory nor the opportunity to be perched on top of the ladder for the first time!
