If the size of the opposition can be imposing, this week was the one that looked like bringing our boys undone; however, buoyed by the win last week, they faced Sandringham on another beautiful day. We have been lucky to enjoy four away games in a row that have been friendly and great contests between teams.

Peninsula had the ball securely in its striking zone for the better part of the game but a goal eluded them until around the 20th minute. Anders Jaeger took a shot from inside the box which clipped the underside of the crossbar, bounced down beyond the keeper’s grasp to allow Tyrone Donnelly to tap it into the net. This remained unchallenged for the rest of the game.

The cheer squad had an exponential growth that spurred Peninsula on to the win; the downside was trying to select the players deserving of the most valuable player accolades. They all performed well both as a team and as shining individuals. Congratulations.
