I was lucky enough to watch the Fillies game against Boronia and do we have a great ladies sorry girls team, to their credit Boronia made it a very good game to see. Tegan once again proved what a good striker she is scoring the second goal this after hitting the crossbar twice, the score was locked at0 0 half time but the deadlock was broken midway through the second half when Becky who had played well hit a drive passed their keeper to give us a well deserved lead ,right footed as she is this one was scored with her left.Fighting till end Boronia forced Britt to make a great save at the end to tip a good shot over the bar.Marcus should be congratulated in producing this really good side , well played all of you girls.

I have just had word from Paul Campion of Chesham Football Club in England that our Fillies keeper Britt had an enjoyable tour of that club with family and friends. Paul made them most welcome and presented Britt with two goalkeeping tops which I hope will keep out opponents shots when she returns in a few weeks time.

This week the Fillies will play S/E Wolves at the following ground
Westall Secondary College
88Fairbank Rd,
Clayton south.

Round 8
Fillies 2 – 0 westernport

Scorers – Tegan Horvat x 2

Great performance by the girls. Everyone played 100% and it was the start of Brittany smith away on holidays for 6 weeks which see’s Heidi krause in goals.

Half way through the season and sitting 3rd . next half will be polishing up the skills and knuckling down for a grand finish

Round 7
Fillies 9 Bayswater 0 goalscorers N ADIA 3TEGAN3 BECKY2 LAUREL1 It was raining cats and dogs at Strikers Complex yesterday today it was goals, the Fillies rediscovered how to put the ball in the back of the net. A haplessBayswater unable to stop an avalanche of goals great return to form of all the team.HAVE A GREAT TRIP BRITT

Round 6
Our Fillies side would be very disappointed with todays 1 1 draw against Rosebud.
Having taken the lead with another goal from Tegan we should have taken the game right up to
The blues however a free kick outside the box saw their opponents level the score. In the second
half we took complete control of the game but thanks to some good goal keeping and some very
Bad misses often a one on one situation no more goals were scored.

Round 5
Bye

Round 4
Score – Fillies 0 – 1 Hampton Park

Report.

Today was a big game. Fillies being on top and Hampton park 2 points behind meant that a win today would put us 5 points clear.
Game started off very shaky as Hampton came at us from the whistle. The defence was strong and held there strike force off with every blow that tried to hit us with.
Fillies did respond back with a few of their own shot but neither team could score in the first half.

Second half after a big chat at half time the fillies started off ok but again were right under the pump. About half way through the second half Hampton found their way through the defence which saw our keeper Brittany cop an injury while trying to stop the ball from going in.
Fillies tried very hard to get the goal back with some great moves in the last 5 but failed to put the ball in the back of the net.
Next week is mother’s day which is a bye and fillies have a fixture bye the week after so that gives us 2 weeks to continue to work on our new formation and to get the girls fired up for the next big game against Rosebud at home , 11am kick off.

Regards,
Marcus Krause

Round 3
Score – Fillies 3 – 0 Montrose

Goals –
Rebecca Nisbet – 1
Tegan Horvat – 1
Laurel Honey – 1

Report.

Montrose turned up with 8 players so already we had the upper hand from the start of the whistle , or so we thought but the mind frame at the start of the game was to stay focused and to get as many goals as possible.
This turned out to be a very hard task as the Montrose Keeper was the woman of the match as she kept them in the game.
On average we had about 70 shots on goals but on able to get 3 goals in.
Our passing was great and talking was impressive but struggled when we were in the 18 yard box to get the ball pass the keeper.
About 20 mins before the end of half time Rebecca found herself an opening and slotted the ball in the bottom left hand corner with a cracking left foot shot.
15 minutes after that Tegan added to her goal tally by putting the ball in the back of the net.
Second half was just the same as the first with the girls struggling to get the ball pass the keeper. About half way into the second half Laurel volleyed the ball into the back of the net.
The result was good as this makes us 3 wins from 3 games and on top of the ladder.
Next week’s challenge will be a tough one as we take on Hampton Park who are breathing down our neck to take our top spot.
This will be a home game , 11am kick off for anyone who would like to see the fillies play.
Regards,
Marcus Krause

Perhaps the best win ever by our Fillies since the inception of the team, a win at Baxter by three goals to two our first win over them. The return of Becky to the team compensated for the loss of Tegan due to work commitments ,Britt went back in goal and Heidi returned to a field position. We opened the scoring Kate getting her first goal then Carla got another but the Baxter girls would not give in and had drawn level midway into the second half . It was not to be the last goal scored as Becky took a great free kick hitting it past their keeper. The result gives us one of our best starts ever and near top position.Marcus has worked hard pre season and would be delighted with the results Carla and Kaz joined from Seaford and Laurel from Westernport a warm welcome to the club girls
