Fillies v Frankston Pines
3 v 0 (T.Bennett, S.Tremewen, N.Daoud)
Well we waited to the last game of the season to turn it on. The girls
had all the moves, and goals to match. Sacha's free kick shot from 30
yards that hit the back of the net five minutes in, was going to put
Beckham to shame, what a ripper.
That put the girls on a high, with confidence they ran Pines around.
Nardia scored with a shot that hit the left hand corner, and Tegan hit
the right from an indirect kick at her second go. Bella, Nardia, Rae
and Annie ran the midfield with some great work from Annie down the
right wing.
Trudi and the girls at the back were running a tight ship with a clean
sheet.
It was a great game to watch and even harder to pick a best player,
they all played well.
I would like to thank the girls of 2008 for their time and patients
with me, to thank the club and its members, committee for the time,
and I hope we can go forward even more next year.
Good Luck and all the best in the future.

Fillies v Westernport
0 v 1 (penalty)
This was the best game of the year by far. With both teams chasing the
win and everything on the line both teams went at everything hard which
ended in Heidi’s season over with a hard tackle which injured
her knee. We had the chances to take the lead but could not finish and
when they got a break away and Brittany won the ball, and the player
trips over, in your own time, ref gave his usual response to peninsula
team a penalty which they scored and it ended 1 nil.
To the rest of the club this was our last game at home and as usual
there was no support from Committee or Saturday players. If the club
wants a women’s team next year some support would be nice and
the girls would lift their luck and confidence. Our next game is at
the Pines.
To the girls you gave it your best, but it was not meant to be.

Fillies v Montrose
1 v 0 (T.Bennett)
This game was a frustrating game for coach and players. I could have
counted at least 30 shots on goal, we had complete control of the game,
but the goalkeeper from Montrose played out of her skin, and the nine
players she had on the line prevented our players from scoring. Not
from lack of trying, and to be fair Montrose played the best game of
the year on their pitch which resembled a cow paddock.
With the results of the other games we have to win this week against
Westernport to have any chance of winning the League.
Good luck girls, it's up to you now.

Fillies v Boronia
2 v 2 (H.Taborsky)
This game was a very disappointment. After a game against Rosebud with
10 girls that showed so much promise and guts to win the points. This
week though our girls could not put a pass together or control the ball,
to put it mildly we got out of jail, to come away with a point. The
last 20 minutes saw our girls put the pressure on Boronia and the game
was finally going our way. Heidi took it up to them and scored with
ten minutes to go, then we realised we had a chance to come away with
something we put more pressure on and our supporter's fitness had them
on the back foot. Heidi had a shot in the last minute of the game, the
Boronia goalie fumbled and made it 2 all and then the final whistle
blew. I shook my head and said "what a shocker", but we didn't
lose and we still have a chance.
Girls we will have to pick up our game if we want to get something out
of the season.

Fillies v Rosebud
3 v 1 (T.Bennett 2, N.Daoud)
Today's game in wintery conditions and 5 degrees. A ground with no markings
and a team with 10 fit players it looked grim, but the girls showed
how much heart they have.
Nil all at half time and the girls looked confident they could win this
one. A great solo effort by Tegan Bennett put us 1 nil up. Then some
fine work on the right hand side by Annie. Nardia and Heidi working
hard in midfield and Trudi in charge at the back, running a tight back
line.
Tegan had a shot and scored, with Nardia slotting one too the left hand
top corner.
All the girls wanted to win this and put in an extra effort to get the
points.
Well done girls a great win.

Fillies v Montrose
5 v 0 (R.Power 3, T.Bennett 2)
Congratulations on our first hat trick and five goals, a dominating
game by the Fillies. We had our first goal in 2 minutes of the start:
Tegan had several chances to make the scoreboard go into double figures
not from lack of trying. With Heidi reverting from midfield to right
wing proved a winner.
Some good work at the back with Trudi and Kate, Bella working very hard
in the midfield. The game was always ours for the taking, just how many,
5 was enough.
A great effort by the team, we missed going into the top division by
one point and finished 8th. That was a good effort.
Now girls its up to you, if you want to win the Second Division. I think
we'll give it a shake.
Well done, good luck.

Fillies vs Westernport
2 v 2 (T.Bennett, Y.Y.Sandy)
With back to our bare 11 players the girls played there hearts out with
no Heidi, Laura, Nardia and Bec we had to work our butts off, in a good
hard tackling game. With great work in midfield by Bella, Yei Yei and
Rea. Great marking by our new comer Kate at left full back. Trudi had
control at the back, and Tegan doing some good work up front. Emma winning
the ball and Annie running the wing. All our girls did their best and
we came away with a point from the ground that resembled a cow paddock.
We went one nil up, 1 all, 2 1 down then 2 all, which was a fair result.
Yei Yei's white teeth still stick in my memory with her smile to score
the equalizer.
Great result girls.
Next week Montrose at Home.

Fillies vs Rosebud Hammers
1 v 0 (T.Bennett)
Todays game had the Fillies in full control with great work at the back,
the midfield was working very hard up and down the field, and some good
football was being played up front.
It was a pleasure to watch, with the men's first team coach running
the line in the first half and a chat at half time, which kept the girls
determined to win against our bogey team.
It was good as a coach of the girls to get support from the Senior coach,
thanks George.
The girls performed well and deserved their win.
Well done, a bye next week.
Don't forget to support your women't team.

Fillies vs Phillip Island
0 v 1
This team sat 3rd on the table and we new with a trip to Phillip Island
was going to be a hard task. The Fillies had most of the play in the
first half with the midfield working hard. On a break away Brittany
closed the player but from behind which resulted in a penalty. Brit
saved the first shot but could not get to the rebound. 1 nil down which
ended up the final result. The girls pushed up in the second half but
could not finish. The last five minutes was just unlucky with the Fillies
pressuring the home side beyond belief. The final whistle went and the
girls were disappointed but they have gained the respect of a team that
will not lie down. Good effort girls.

Fillies vs Seaford United
1 - 4
This was a game when the wind would determine the out come of the match.
The fillies had the wind in the first half and soaked up some early
pressure from the top side in the league. Because of the girls work
rate and tight marking the Fillies had most of the play. However one
lapse in concentration, allowed SEAFORD to take the lead but to the
girl’s great credit and endeavour they hit back and TEGAN got
an equalizer just before half time.
The half time talk was about how SEAFORD would attack us with wind advantage
in the second half, again to the girl’s great credit they did
very well against some top players and certainly very fit players.
We conceded three more goals in the second half but the whole team should
be congratulated on a great effort.

Seaford B 1 v Fillies 2
On a miserable Sunday morning a great game was being played out. With
the rain angle in from the side the Fillies where in control peppering
the Seaford goal with shots and one on one’s but to no avail,
still no score, With a new line up and the girls fired up they where
looking good with some great work at the back pushing the five midfielders
to attack and we did, till a shitty miss kick put us a goal down.
It was on in the second half Seaford never had a sniff and the Fillies
went on the rampage for a win. Some great work in all departments. The
girls had a sniff and Rae put the equaliser in, with Tegan the second.
With 20 minutes left the girls kept the pressure on and came out worthy
winners.
Well done girls.

Hampton Park 2 v Fillies 0
This was a game we took to the opposition and looked good because this
team was our bogey team. With some good efforts in midfield and defence
it looked good. A defensive era put us one nil down. Unlucky the luck
was not with us as usual with some bad ref decisions put one more goal
in at the death.
To the girls endeavour they tried to the end. 2 nil loss was not what
the game deserved we where the better team on the day but have to put
the ball in the net.
Well done girls.

Baxter Vs Fillies
2 - 1
Goal Scorer
Rae Power
On a cold foggy Sunday morning our girls were running
hot. Some good efforts and a full squad of players along with the rooky
appearance of Bella Reaper who played her heart out for the Fillies.
We went a goal down that just shouldn't have happened. The next was
a hand ball that all could see but the ref.
The girls worked really hard to get a result but just fell short. A
superb effort by all the girls and the luck just hasn't swung our way
this season.
It's on the way though. Watch out teams to come.
Great effort girls

Fillies Vs Pines
1 - 0
Todays game was a good one to watch and even better for the morale.
The 1 nil win wasn't a good measure on the game considering the Fillies
had 90% of the games play with some good football played along the way.
Some good performances by several girls. A good effort all round and
it was nice to get a win on the board. The 3 points and the song were
finally where they should be.
Great game all round

18.05.08
Langy Vs Fillies
5 - 0
The day started bad with only 10 players to pick the team from, and
Langy arrived with a full squad plus plenty of bench warmers.
To our credit the girls played it out till the end, but with a player
down found themselves chasing all match. That was a positive to take
from the game. Although a nil result doesn't look good.
It bonded the team and they now realise how hurtful a huge loss can
be. We put it all down to an experience.
Good effort for the 10 that turned up

11/05/08
Fillies vs Boronia
0-1
The girls found out early that there would be no subs for the third
week running this year so instantly there was pressure for the girls
to last the full 90 minutes. They started off well with some good football
being played. With us having the better of the first half we went into
the break still nil all. The second half however brought tiredness,
confusion and a lack of talking caught the girls with a goal against.
From then the girls were rapidly running out of steam and converted
to putting the ball out of play instead of placing any passes. To the
girls credit they tried really hard and finished out the match. Better
luck next week

Fillies vs Chelsea
0-0
This was an absolute cracker of a game from start to finish. With some
great keeping, hard tackling and lots of hard running with the ball
the girls played a hard and tough game till the end. It looks like we
are playing much better and working hard on and off the ball. Training
two nights a week certainly seams to finally be paying off. With 10
minutes to go Chelsea showed there true colours resorting to violence
rather than playing soccer with punches and kicking being swung at the
girls. Good effort girls let's take the point.
