Today it happened all the hard work paid off for a team
that has had everything thrown at them in this season. We played some
great soccer and penetrated their defence too many times to count. Some
great worked started at the back coming forward but could only score one
goal by the tireless Heidi. Tegan played at her new possie and took it
by the horns.
We had our first send off in two seasons.
It was a great game to watch and some new goal scorers Alycia, Hannah
and Marg had the final say 4-nil.
It was a great team effort and good to finish the League games with a
win. We need to have the same impact this week. At home against Rosebud
A we need to win to go through to the next round.
The coaches are proud of the team, everybody had a real hot go.

Fillies Vs Langwarrin

Todays game was one that got away against a young Langy team of only 8. Our team with a major injury to Brooke along with the flu running it's coarse through the players and not to mention a few sore heads left us at one stage with 8.
The game was a hard fought affair with end to end play.
But, the Fillies making huge mistakes at important stages sore a penalty placed for a score against us.
To the girls credit they tried till the end going down 2, 1.
Well Done. Good effort. Bad Luck

Westernport Vs Fillies

Fillies scorer: Kylie Peacock
Todays game was a tight encounter, end to end stuff and a real pressure cooker of a match. Both teams had many missed opportunities to take the lead.
Some great work by hannah and Kylie in midfield and good work by the back four.
With changes at half time along with a bad injury to allstar Heidi 5 minutes from the final whistle, the Fillies held on to take a well deserved draw.
Well done girls but.... we must take our chances to relieve the pressure on our game. Next weeks game will test us against Langy at home

BAYSIDE NEWS
At the halfway point in the FILLIES competition was split into two sections
in a similar fashion to the Scottish Premier League
The girls finished in the lower half of the league. However in the new
competition set up they are confident they can do well.
Mean while the men’s first team are progressing well in the cup
competition. In the last round they beat PHILLIP ISLAND 10-0
DANIEL CONDON doing a SIMON O’DONNELL in scoring five goals. In
the next round they have been drawn at home against WESTERN PORT. Tomorrow
all three teams are at home the first game starting at 11 am.

Rosebud B Vs Frankston Fillies
Nil all
Todays game was a frustrating affair with some A for effort and trying to sadly no result. Every forward had more than one opportunity to put a score on the board but all lucked out in the end.
Some changes up front and rearrangement through the team, still that elusive goal never came. With a great work rate in the back by Heidi, Trudi, and Hannah there was no chance they were going to let one to Rosebud through. With the ball 90% in Rosebuds forward in the second half thank god there goal never came.
We need to think about what we do at training and use the ball to our advantage. Coming away with a draw was lucky for Rosebud.
A for effort. F for intelligence

Fillies vs Pines

Tegan Bennett both goals
Not a great start to the match with Pines taking the first score of the game. It was only to get better from here for the Fillies.
A change at half time saw the Fillies take Brooke from her beloved goalie position and place her in the midfield where she absolutely fired at every ball to come her way. With this Beck took the Keeper duties keeping a clean sheet to see out the game.
With Hannah, Marg, Kylie and Tegan on the ball constantly pushing it forward it was only a matter of time before Tegan would strike our first score for the board. A great corner off the boot from Kylie allowed Tegan a perfect header to mark the victory goal.
Trudi and Heidi kept up their end of the bargain in defence stopping any chances Pines had of scoring an equaliser.
Great game overall.

Fillies 2 vs Rosebud B 0

What a performance turn around by the girls this week. From the worst game of the year last week, to an absolute beauty today.
There performance this week saw the girls for the first time this season playing as a team. With 5 clear chances to score in the first half it was a little dissapointing going into the break still nil all.
It was during this break though the Fillies regrouped and made some drastic team changes. The second half begun and the girls were in everything. A missed penalty was only to make the girls strive for the victory points even more. A great effort from Hannah in the back line and through midfield paved the way for the Fillies to follow. Which they did! Neve moved the ball like playing for the A league but to everyones horror didn't come away with a score to her name. Tegan secured the win for the team with our first multiple score for the season.
You should all be proud.

Hampton Park Vs Peninsula Fillies

Today's game I would rather forget as one of those games. We
played rubbish, I just hope we can regroup for next weeks game against
bottom side Rosebud B. We need to concentrate on the job at hand and forget
the A Team and forget the distractions from afar.

Phillip Island vs Peninsula Fillies
1 - 1

This weeks game showed the Fillies are slowly but surely learning there
craft.
The weather was fine with the sun taking full effect on one end of theground.
After a massive weekend away by the Fillies the girls were all fired up
to go. The girls can hold there heads high after taking a point from a
team that had better players and a much higher ladder position.
The Fillies played as a team and worked very hard to counter act the pressure
applied from the home side. With this the girls also pressuring the more
dominant side.
With only a few minutes into the first half of the game the Island girls
hit there first score and didn't look to be stopping any time soon.
With great work in defence by Brooke, Trudi, beck and Marg it was Heidi
who took out the plays of the day, once again showing the girls how it's
done. It was just before the break that the Fillies fired up in front
of goals and after many taps to the ball Kerrie passed a beauty for Annie
to knock into the back of the net. Taking alot of hits and applying some
great tackles Heidi led the team to one all at the break.
With some good running by Kylie, Annie, Teagan and Neve to get the ball
to our forward (which is a very rare part of our game) Kerrie after closing
the home team down looked to be taking home a score to her name after
forcing errors but was attacked by a stronger defence.
All the girls put in 110% and it was a good game in all.
A great game.
Watch out Hampton Park. We're going to be firing this week.

Fillies 1 vs Cascatlan 6
Great first half by the girls, with good work done by the back
four and some good play in midfield it was only a one, nil lead going
into the break.
Then came the second half. The flood gates opened and the Cascatlans were
having shots 30mts out and after scoring two we were able to pull one
back with a missile hit from Tegan Bennett to score only the second goal
for the season.
From here though the girls were put under the hammer and the game went
quite pear shaped. With a 15 minute goal scoring feast, at the end of
day the Fillies tried but were beaten by a far superior side. The score
6 to 1 tells it's own story.
With our next game at Phillip Island the girls can hopefully put this
game aside and come out with a few more shots at goal. Look out girls.

03.06.07 Lawton Park
Langwarrin vs Frankston Fillies
0 - 0
Todays game was fustrating for both coach and players. A late kick off
and a patchy ground resembling a cows paddock was only to be bettered
by Langwarrin having only 9 players to our 12.
In what should have been a great advantage for the girls finding themselves
with two spare players only seemed to confuse and panic the Fillies.
With the grounds divets causing alot of bounce to the game, ball control
and passing became absent from the Fillies game.
Midfielders under Marg's guidance took the ball into the Fillies forward
on a few occasions, but to the teams dissapointment no score was to be
counted. Lack of discipline on the day was reesoning towards the Fillies
not taking out full points for the match.
Watching the game you would have thought that Langwarrin had the 2 player
advantage with many of Steve Wallace's girls having several opportunities
to put a score on the board.
Some great defence in the back line by Alycia, Trudi, Beck, Brooke and
Heidi as always allowed the Fillies to hold on and take a point moving
them a little further up the league ladder. Well Done!

Peninsula Fillies vs Westernport Ballam Park 27.05.07

Fillies 1 - Westernport 0
Todays game saw the Fillies collect there first points
for the 2007 season.
It was a hard game that came with alot of casualties. Laura Burt suffered
a shoulder injury in the 32nd minute and played no further part in the
game. This left it to just the bare 11 to finish out the game.
Trudi Hay made her first appearance for the 2007 season playing a good
game along with Heidi, Marg, Kylie and Neve.
With a nil all score with 10 minutes to go a team change saw Heidi moved
out of her loving sweeper duties and taking on the forwards role. It was
with this move that our 2006 club best and fairest Heidi scored our winning
goal in the last 30 seconds of the game. With our first score for the
year and not to mention a win for the team we congrats Heidi for her hard
work and effort.
Well done girls on the win and let's take this confidence into our game
this week against Langwarrin.

Rosebud A vs Frankston Fillies 20.05.07 11 am
Rosebud 1 - Frankston Fillies 0
Todays game was 100% effort. It was a total turn around from last weeks
performance thank god.
A few positional changes and some great passing at last was to be seen.
The girls fought it out right to the last minute with a one on one that
didn't come off. Some great performances by Annie, Belinda and Alycia
through the midfield. Marg mixing up the game with only nine toes in tact
showed the girls how it's done. Kylie moved to her first game in centre
back, had a blazing performance. Her goal kicks and corners were something
to make even the boys proud.
With the full back working hard as always it was an entertaining game
with the result being the only sour point going down 1 nil.
We can look forward to a home game this week against Westernport. With
the girls all fired up for their first win of the season, it should be
a cracker of a game. Good effort girls.

Boronia 2, Frankston Fillies 0
This weeks match was a game we would like to forget. Fillies had a bad
day to put it mildly. With a panic set in, penalty missed, passes and
ball control out the window, there were too many passengers and not enough
doers.
Lucky for us it's only the second match of the league table. This gives
us a chance to overcome the downfalls that arrised during the match.
There were some good performances from a few players. We will learn from
this result, and keep a positive mind going into our next match against
Rosebud A. We can only get better from here!

Frankston Fillies vs Seaford United

Seaford United - 3
Frankston Fillies started the game with two key players out of the side.
With some organisaton and alot of rearrangment the team was set but leaving
only one player on the bench.
The girls tried very hard to try and curb the constant barrage of shots
at the goal but was kept at bay by our young fearless goalkeeper until
the 30th minute when they scored.
With an outstanding player of the match performance by Heidi Taborsky,
and great courage showed in the midfield by hannah Lewins, Kylie Peacock
and Annie teirney.
The team can take nothing but positives out of this match with the last
15 minutes the home side having more chances at goal and far superior
fitness to the ex - premier league side.
All in all the girls can hold there heads high from the match result.
Coaching staff are very happy with the endeavour shown by the girls.

The Fillies play Westernport this Sunday (22/4) at Ballam Park 11pm kick off, get along and watch the girls play.
12 Teams to line up for 07 Women’s Division
Last year it was such a touch and go situation when just four teams lined
up for the inaugural Bayside Women’s division. With only four teams
there was thought to perhaps leave it for another year to start the division,
but the green light was given with the hope that once the Womens division
starts then it was hoped that it will give confidence in other teams to
put together teams.
It was rough to say the least with the fixtures been redone three times. But it all started to turn around when Rosebud entered an extra team mid way through the season and such was the response at Rosebud they then entered a second.
Hampton Park United was the dominant team all season and not once could they be defeated. They took home both the Women’s Divisional Championship and also won the Women’s Bayside F.A. Cup when they defeated Frankston Pines 1 – 0.
This season the Women’s division has had overwhelming response with now 12 teams entered. Problem is that it was impossible to have each other play twice as it would involve another four rounds. The result is that the league will have two stages.
The first stage will have all 12 teams play each other
once in over 11 rounds. Then the top six teams will play each other once
again to contest for the Premier League Championship and the bottom six
to play each other in a separate division for the Division 1 championship.
